With more than 20 years as a practicing attorney in Georgia, Byrd’s areas of concentration include estate planning, probate law, and alternative dispute resolution.

Byrd is a Board Member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Estate Planning & Probate Section and a Contributing Editor of its official newsletter, The Mortmain. She is also a member of the Elder Law and Dispute Resolution Sections of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Fiduciary Law, Elder Law, and Dispute Resolution Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Byrd holds a J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she received a Roy Webster Scholarship. As a member of the International Law Society, she participated with distinction in the Philip P. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, earning an American Jurisprudence Award. While a student, she also assisted licensed attorneys in the protection and representation of victims of domestic abuse through the SisterCare Pro Bono program.
