Allison L. Byrd is an Associate Attorney with Morgan & DiSalvo, P.C., the Alpharetta law firm dedicated to helping individuals and families plan and prepare for the many changes that life brings.
Allison’s areas of concentration include Estate Planning, Probate Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Estate Planning Counsel of North Georgia. She is a past Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Estate Planning & Probate Section, and is a Contributing Editor to The Mortmain, that Section’s official newsletter. She is a member of the Estate Planning & Probate Law, Elder Law, and Dispute Resolution Sections of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Fiduciary Law and Dispute Resolution Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers.
Allison holds bar memberships in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She is also registered with the Georgia Supreme Court Commission on Dispute Resolution as a neutral in the areas of Arbitration, General Civil Mediation, and Domestic Relations Mediation.
A Georgia native, Allison earned her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and was a recipient of a Roy Webster Scholarship. As a member of the International Law Society, she participated with distinction in the Philip P. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, earning an American Jurisprudence Award. She also assisted licensed attorneys in the protection and representation of victims of domestic abuse through the SisterCare Pro Bono program.
Allison resides in Roswell, Georgia with her husband. She is a past Treasurer of her neighborhood homeowners’ association, a past participant in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, and a current volunteer with the Good Mews Animal Foundation. She frequently can be found attending meetings of the Atlanta Science Tavern and the Atlanta Knitting Guild, and enjoys hosting friends at her home for regular book club and movie night gatherings.
